Federal Capital Partners (FCP) is pleased to announce that Managing Partner, Esko I. Korhonen, will be a featured speaker at RealShare DC at the Ronald Reagan Building on February 15th, 2011. The annual event, produced by Real Estate Forum and GlobeSt.com, features more than 30 real estate leaders addressing all aspects of the industry.
Mr. Korhonen will join panelists Brian Connelly of Akridge, Bill Prutting of CBRE and Helen Haerle of Quadrangle in a session titled “The Outlook on Investment Sales in Washington: Sales, Acquisitions & the Capital Markets” moderated by Bill Collins of Cassidy Turley.
Esko Korhonen has company responsibilities in commercial investment, capital markets and fund raising. He has more than 27 years of experience in real estate investment and development and serves on FCP’s Investment Committee. Prior to founding FCP, Mr. Korhonen was a Principal of The Carlyle Group where he served on the company’s real estate fund’s Investment Committee. Before joining Carlyle, Mr. Korhonen was Vice President of ING Group, where he was responsible for ING’s North American real estate portfolio. He began his real estate career with the Trammell Crow Company. Mr. Korhonen has served on the Board of Directors of Tower Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE-TOW) and also serves on the Board of Trustees and is Treasurer of The Maret School in Washington, DC.
In 2010, FCP was one of the most active investment companies in the Mid-Atlantic region, investing more than $390 million in transactions that ranged from direct investment as a JV partner in a downtown office building to the purchase of a note of a foreclosed retail center and the funding through preferred equity and mezzanine capital for a top-of-the-market condominium development. FCP has acquired or funded close to $1 billion of real estate in the past two years through the company’s FCP Fund I, L.P, a co-mingled real estate private equity fund. The investments include multi-family residential, office and retail real estate in the MidAtlantic region.
