Senior Vice President – Residential Acquisitions
Jason Bonderenko specializes in the acquisition, asset management and disposition of the firm’s apartment properties. Since joining FCP nine years ago, he has been involved with acquiring or investing in approximately 18,000 apartments valued at over $2.0 billion as well as with the investing of all three of FCP’s real estate funds.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Bonderenko worked with the Capital Markets group of CB Richard Ellis where he was involved with financing $3 billion of commercial real estate transactions throughout the mid-Atlantic region. Mr. Bonderenko began his career with a mortgage REIT where he focused on the asset management of lender-owned commercial real estate and non-performing commercial real estate loans. Mr. Bonderenko is a member of the National Multi-Housing Council and a graduate of Ithaca College, where he earned a BS in Economics.
Wade L. Casstevens
Senior Vice President - Residential Acquisitions
Wade Casstevens, with over eight years of experience in real estate investment and banking, focuses on the firm's investments in residential development opportunities.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Casstevens was a Development Director for Post Properties where he entitled, planned and developed $250 million of mixed-use projects in the Washington, DC metro area. Prior to Post Properties, he worked at Bear Stearns Commercial Mortgage where he financed over $500 million of commercial properties. Mr. Casstevens received his MBA in Finance and Real Estate from Columbia Business School and BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Alex Cathcart is responsible for underwriting FCP's residential acquisitions as well as infill development opportunities.
Prior to joining FCP in 2012, Mr. Cathcart worked as an Analyst at Wells Fargo Bank where he underwrote commercial real estate loan originations and restructures and managed a portfolio of balance sheet commitments. Mr. Cathcart graduated with a BS in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Associate - Structured Investments
Christian Coates is responsible for underwriting and closing structured investments and acquisitions at FCP.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Coates worked as an associate in Citigroup’s Institutional Clients Group, where he analyzed and traded global fixed income and equity securities. Mr. Coates graduated with a BA from Harvard University.
Edward (E.J.) Corwin
Senior Vice President - Structured Investments
E.J. Corwin leads the Structured Investments team and is responsible for expanding the company's portfolio of Structured Investments within the East Coast markets.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Corwin was a Senior Vice President in the Special Situations/REMAG Group of Wells Fargo Bank. During his tenure at Wells Fargo, Mr. Corwin managed a $1.2 billion portfolio of nonperforming loans nationwide including office, multi-family, retail, hotel, commercial land, residential land, and condominiums. Additionally, while in the Real Estate Merchant Banking Group at Wells Fargo, he originated over $800 million of structured loans, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region. Earlier in his career, Mr. Corwin served in several project management roles at real estate companies Jones Lang LaSalle (Spaulding & Slye Colliers) and Whiting-Turner. Mr. Corwin earned both his MBA (Ross Business School) and Master of Engineering from the University of Michigan, and his BS in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.
Vice President - Acquisitions
Bruce Gago heads FCP's South Florida office as Vice President - Acquisitions, where he sources multifamily investments and works closely with the company's commercial and structured investment teams on transactions in those sectors.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Gago served as Vice President for Acquisitions and Underwriting at Mast Capital in Miami Beach, FL. While there, he was a key contributor to the firm's first fund raise and managed investment sourcing activities for the firm. Prior to Mast Capital, Mr. Gago worked in several other leading commercial real estate firms, including JLL and The Carlyle Group, where he managed a portfolio of 17 investments in multiple regions. Mr. Gago holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Dartmouth College.
William (Billy) Herbert
Associate - Acquisitions
Billy Herbert is responsible for underwriting and structuring FCP’s acquisitions in ground-up development. His focus is on both residential and commercial mixed-use investments.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Herbert worked for Federal Realty Investment Trust (FRIT) where he underwrote mixed-use developments (retail, office, residential, hotel and for-sale condo uses), oversaw financial management of ongoing developments and managed the underwriting, forecasting and reporting for the 16 asset East Coast Mixed Use Division ($130M annual NOI and 6M SF existing and CIP). Mr. Herbert began his career in technology consulting roles with Booz Allen Hamilton and PWC. Mr. Herbert received his BBA from the James Madison University College of Business.
Stephen B. (Bart) Hurlbut
Senior Associate - Commercial Acquisitions
Bart Hurlbut, a member of FCP's commercial acquisitions team, is responsible for underwriting new office, retail and industrial investments.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Hurlbut served as an Associate, Structured Finance in Cassidy Turley's Capital Markets Group. Over the past four years, he helped source debt and equity transactions totaling more than 5.25 million square feet, 4,700 multifamily units and more than $2.6 billion in transaction volume. Mr. Hurlbut earned a BS from the University of Virginia and is a member of the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA) and a founding member of the Young Real Estate Professionals of Washington, DC.
Bryan M. Kane
Senior Vice President - Acquisitions
Bryan Kane oversees FCP investments of all property types throughout the Southeast, where he has been involved with transactions totaling over $1 billion in the last four years.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Kane was a Vice President with CBRE, where he opened their Capital Markets office in Raleigh. He has arranged a variety of capital structures for projects throughout the Southeast with a total capitalization in excess of $2 billion. Prior to joining CBRE, he was an Assistant Vice President with Medalist Capital. Mr. Kane serves on the Board of Directors for the Research Triangle Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Triangle. Mr. Kane received his BBA from the University of Mississippi School of Business Administration.
Senior Analyst - Residential Acquisitions
Cole Kellogg is responsible for underwriting and closing FCP’s residential acquisitions throughout the greater D.C. area and Southeastern United States.
Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Kellogg worked as an analyst in J.P. Morgan Chase’s Asset Management Division, where he focused on providing multi-asset class discretionary portfolio management services to Washington area clients. Mr. Kellogg graduated with a BA from Vanderbilt University in 2013.
Analyst - Residential Acquisitions
Drew Schwartz is responsible for underwriting and closing FCP's residential acquisitions throughout Florida and the greater Washington, DC area.
Mr. Schwartz graduated from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business where he earned his BBA with concentrations in Finance and Real Estate.
Senior Associate - Residential and Commercial Acquisitions
Stephen Stover is responsible for underwriting FCP's residential and commercial acquisitions as well as infill development opportunities. Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Stover was with Capital Automotive Real Estate Services where he worked to manage and acquire income producing commercial real estate assets while also pursuing the redevelopment of select properties primarily located in the DC MSA. Mr. Stover graduated summa cum laude from James Madison University with a double major in Finance and Economics.
Vice President - Development
Matt Valentini brings over 15 years of multifamily development and commercial office and hospitality experience to his role at FCP as Vice President of Development. Mr. Valentini leads the firm's development management team, overseeing ground-up development and redevelopment activities in markets throughout the East Coast. Mr. Valentini previously served as Vice President, Development at JBG and spent four years in Toll Brothers' homebuilding operation in Northern Virginia. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the DC Real Estate Group and Northern Virginia NAIOP. Mr. Valentini holds a Masters in Real Estate Development from Johns Hopkins and a BA from the University of Chicago.
Jason L. Ward
Vice President - Structured Investments
Jason Ward, with nine years of commercial real estate experience, focuses on structured debt investments and land development investment opportunities for FCP. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Ward managed a nationwide portfolio of commercial real estate debt with CapitalSource, a specialty finance company. Prior to CapitalSource, Mr. Ward worked in originations at SunTrust Bank's Commercial Real Estate DC region. Mr. Ward earned an MBA from Georgetown's McDonough School of Business, and a BS in Business Administration with emphasis in Finance from Washington and Lee University.
Erik S. Weinberg
Senior Vice President - Commercial Acquisitions
Erik Weinberg focuses on the acquisition of new office, retail, and industrial investments. Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Weinberg was a Senior Associate with CW Capital, where he was responsible for negotiating, modeling and closing workouts and/or dispositions of distressed commercial mortgage loans and properties aggregating in excess of $3 billion. Prior to joining CW Capital, Mr. Weinberg was an Associate within the Capital Markets Group at Cassidy Turley in Washington, DC. Mr. Weinberg began his career as a Senior Financial Analyst at BearingPoint, Inc. in its Financial Services Group. Mr. Weinberg graduated an academic All-American from the University of Maryland with a double major in Finance and Accounting.
